Industrial cameras for rugged environments

All uEye cameras have an extremely compact design and are available in high-quality CCD or CMOS sensors, monochrome or color, with rolling or global shutters and, optionally with an internal memory for on-board sequence capture and buffering. The series of cameras offers resolutions ranging from VGA up to five Megapixel.

The RE series of uEye cameras is offered with a specially designed housing and connectors for use in harsh environmental conditions. It is no secret that adverse environmental conditions such as dust or moisture affect the proper functioning of sensitive high-precision electronic components. This applies all the more to modern cameras, in which the connectors and the fine mechanics of the lenses also react to dirt or water. The uEye RE series solves these problems without the need for extra protection or customized enclosures.

iDS developed the uEye RE camera family to accommodate these special requirements. Like the traditional uEye family, the uEye RE family is also affordable and extremely compact with a USB2 interface for professional use.

The carefully sealed housing and the screw-mounted lens tube make the cameras dust and water proof so conforming to protection classes IP65 and IP67. The USB connection and the I/O signal connections are made through two plugs that meet the same protection classes. The uEye RE range is therefore particularly well suited to rough environments and are extraordinarily robust.

The uEye RE accessories, such as cable and USB hubs, are also consistently designed for the extended application possibilities of this series.

The uEye RE 4-port hub meets the protection classes IP65 and IP67 and uses the same connectors as the uEye RE cameras that feature screw locking for added reliability. To complete the range of accessories the hub is optionally equipped with a DIN rail mount to facilitate the assembly in a control cabinet, for example. The connecting cables between hub and camera are available in a standard or dragline-compatible version. The dragline-compatible special cables offer cable lengths outside the USB 2.0 specification.
