The compact device can be permanently mounted onto equipment and data is collected by its eight input channels over an existing wireless network. Acceleration, velocity, temperature and bearing condition data can be automatically uploaded for viewing and analysis in the SKF Machine Suite. In addition to the safety and convenience benefits of using wireless technology, potential cost savings are also achievable due to simple and fast installation.
The wireless condition monitoring system is ideal for use with machines that are inaccessible, difficult or dangerous to reach, or in instances where hardwiring is not possible, such as applications with moving components or those in hazardous environments. Furthermore, the rugged device is ideal for machines that are frequently moved around or are between sites, such as temporary installations.
The software system can be installed and ready to use in three simple steps, reducing installation times and costs still further. Firstly, the SKF Wireless Configuration Utility is used to configure the hardware to talk to the wireless network. Access points, alarm parameters and other data points can then be designed and set up using the SKF Wireless Database Builder, and, subsequently, data is automatically uploaded to the SKF Machine Suite for viewing, analysis and reporting.
The SKF Wireless Monitoring System V/T is available as a turn-key solution or as part of a service contract, depending on the specific requirements of the application.
