Back in 2013, SKF announced it had acquired Cooper Roller Bearings as part of the US based Kaydon Corporation, Cooper's parent company at the time. Following a period of consolidation within the SKF, it has now been decided that all Cooper Split Bearings ranges will be marketed under the name of SKF Cooper going forward.

Magnetic bearing tuning service offers customers greater control
To provide its customers with direct control over active magnetic bearing tuning and to increase their wider adoption, SKF has introduced a certified tuning service for its magnetic bearings. The new service called ‘certified tuning E300V2’ leverages the capabilities of the E300V2 control cabinet for SKF S2M magnetic bearings. The development is a spin-off from a previous subsea electronic system developed for the Norwegian Åsgard project and offers the ability to monitor and control magnetic bearings from a remote location.

SKF is making its high performance RSH seal design available on a larger range of SKF Explorer deep groove ball bearings. The tried and tested RSH seal uses a highly optimised dual-lip configuration to provide additional protection in demanding environments. For users, the result is bearings that last longer, especially in wet, contaminated or dusty operating conditions, and that need to be replaced less frequently.
