Datest Corp. Installs SPEA 4060 Flying Probe System

The 4060 is the second SPEA flying probe system to be installed at Datest’s facility. The 4060 features simultaneous top- and bottom-side probing, allowing PCBAs to be tested without flipping the board for retest on the opposite side. Additionally, simultaneous probing on both sides of the PCBAS can provide higher test coverage. With limited test access becoming more prevalent in today’s designs, the ability to target both sides of a board provides more flexibility to meet specific customer requirements.

The new SPEA 4060 incorporates new instrumentation that is designed to increase test accuracy and resolution while increasing measurement speed. The 4060 minimizes the distance between measurement electronics and the device under test by moving the data capture electronics to the probe heads. The new design also reduces signal noise and provides extremely stable test measurements.

SPEA’s new Leonardo Express operating system offers quick, easy test generation with a guided test program development feature. Other features that simplify the development process include automatic test debug and program tuning to assure stable test results.

Datest also has selected GOEPEL electronic’s boundary scan test solution that will be integrated into the SPEA 4060. The combination of electrical test, optical inspection and boundary scan in a single platform will provide complete one-stage testing with high test coverage while lowering the cost of test.
