Festo has launched two new easy-to-use sensors with IO-Link output that enable engineers to check the status of their processes readily and increase production efficiencies. Developed in repsonse to the trend for increased monitoring and diagnositcs, SFAW is the first flow sensor from Festo for sensing liquid media and the SPAU is a new modular system designed for the monitoring of pressure and vacuum in process and factory automation applications. 

PIHER Sensors and Controls S.A. introduces a new custom sensor suitable for the harshest of environments, a two-piece magnetic Hall effect variable gap sensor that maintains stable electrical output and specified linearity on mobile shafts, despite radial and axial movement. 

Oldham launches a new long life Oxygen sensor for the OLCT 10N.The OLCT 10N is a digital detector designed for commercial or industrial use in ATEX zone 2 or 22 areas or in non- hazardous environments.

Pepperl+Fuchs’ popular ML6 series subminiature photoelectric sensors come with dual sensor redundant detection and independent outputs. They are also available in long-range background suppression sensing models, and retroreflective models with no sensing deadband.

The recently announced 8661 series dual-range precision torque sensor with USB interface from Burster GmbH is now available from Ixthus Instrumentation, the German precision sensor manufacturer’s UK supply partner. With a single sensor covering two torque ranges  - 0…5 Nm and 0…200 Nm -  the new 8661 model is raising the standards bar and the convenience for the measurement of static and bi-directional torque for the laboratory, production test and quality assurance.  

A new Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor from European relay and timer specialist Finder is in stock at Conrad Business Supplies. The Type 18.A1 provides the user with a wide, 110° horizontal angle of survey. The sensor orientation can be customised based on application requirements and parameters such as adjustable threshold and light on timer can be configured.

The NCG-1-AL-UHV position sensors from Queensgate, based upon highly advanced proprietary capacitive technology, are the longest range devices in the company’s portfolio. Their measurements can span across 11,000µm. Designed for precision positioning in the most uncompromising of environments, they have a sensing mechanism that utilizes gold-plated ceramic capacitive plates and exhibits a combination of rugged construction plus strong operational performance of 0.12µm resolution (thanks to very low noise electronics).

Banner Engineering introduces its new M18-4 self-contained photoelectric sensors. Featuring robust IP69K-rated 316 stainless steel housing, the heavy-duty 18 mm metal barrel sensor is ideal for harsh industrial environments where abrasive chemicals and ingress fluid are present. Built with Advanced ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) technology, the dc-operated M18-4 sensors are also resistant to fluorescent light and offer a high level of crosstalk avoidance.
