Wireless sensors keep marine steering on course

Wireless sensors keep marine steering on course
TorqSense wireless sensors from Sensor Technology are playing an important role in new product development for Hydraulic Projects Limited (Hy-Pro), one of the UK’s developers and suppliers of hydraulic drive units for marine steering and autopilot systems. The sensors, which accurately measure shaft torque in rotary drive systems, are providing the essential data that Hy-Pro needs to refine the design of the electrically powered pump assemblies used in the high-performance hydraulic steering systems that the company supplies for use in yachts and other small pleasure craft.

Heavy duty liquid level switch

Heavy duty liquid level switch
SST Sensing’s Optomax Industrial Glass devices are targeted at installation within harsh industrial environments. Thanks to their stainless steel construction and glass sensor tip, these single point liquid level switches are said to exhibit elevated operational robustness. As a result, these devices are highly suited to applications where they are exposed to extreme temperatures (up to 125°C) and high pressures (up to 600bar).
