Auto engine overspeed shut down valves
Chalwyn, part of AMOT, has introduced a new brochure on their D-Series automatic engine overspeed shut down valves.
The 8 page brochure details how flammable gas or vapour can be drawn into the air intake of diesel engines thus acting as an ungoverned fuel supply, resulting in engine runaway and overspeed. A potential mechanical failure or possible flash-back situation, especially dangerous in flammable hazardous areas could follow.

The Chalwyn D-Series air intake valves were designed to automatically shut down if the engine overspeeds for any reason. Full production of the D-Series followed from extensive tests by Esso (Exxon)

There are many sizes and optional features offered, also automatic, auto-manual, manual models available.
