  Two new dispensing valves have been launched by Intertronics which are especially suitable for cyanoacrylate adhesives as well as other volatile and/or low viscosity materials such as UV cure adhesives, solvents, varnishes, lacquers or inks.

Speakers and exhibitors will showcase the latest innovations and discuss solutions to the challenges facing the power industry as Asia Power Week returns to Thailand this year. GROUPE LATTY's new packing LATTYflon 7189 for pumps is adapted to very abrasive environments and reduces water consumption. Developed to meet the requirements of mining industries, the packing LATTYflon 7189 from LATTY will aid improving the MTBF ON phosphate sludge pumps where abrasion is high.

The Gespasa BDP high-flow, explosion proof range of vane pumps are self-priming, positive displacement, and continuously rated. The BDP pumps in the collection are suitable for use with diesel, petrol, kerosene and other clean, non-corrosive liquids. Transfers using the range of BDP pumps are quick, uniform and inaudible for a simple operation. Constructed from IP-55 hard-wearing die casted iron housing, the pumps are ATEX EExd IIBT4 certified for use in hazardous environments.

  Structural steelwork is being provided by ECS Engineering to create a new pump hall and control room above the existing facilities at the Foss Barrier flood defence scheme in the centre of York. The work is part of a larger £17m project designed to improve the city’s flood defences.

  Manufacturing processes that operate under hygienic conditions are arguably under more pressures to increase efficiency and reduce waste due to high relative operating costs. However, this specialist area is required to prioritise cleanliness and precision ahead of other considerations, which can lead to some cost saving opportunities being missed.

This year’s POWER-GEN Africa event is set to attract speakers and exhibitors from around the world to discuss the prominent issues of the industry and to present the latest innovations. The Water Industry Achievement Award for Carbon Reduction Initiative of the Year has been awarded to engineering solutions provider, Boulting Group for its collaborative work with Thames Water. The awards, which were held at the VOX Conference Centre, Birmingham on 23rd May 2017 celebrate innovation, best practice and stand-out projects from within the water industry.

Traditionally designed to meet the specifications of a particular application without the need for speed control, large scale, high performance pumps now are undergoing some changes in operating conditions after the initial installation can result in a pump not operating near its best efficiency point (BEP), which makes the overall process less efficient.

Extending its range of variable speed driven vacuum pumps, Atlas Copco has added three models which offer flow rates of up to 5004m3/h. The new GHS 3800-5400 VSD+ rotary screw pumps are particularly suited for large industrial vacuum users in the UK’s glass, plastics, canning and food packaging industries.
