  The latest trouser pressing machine, the BRI - 235VC, from VEIT Group combines high speed and precise automated motion with operator control. It also uses the compact and reliable Herga 6289 foot switch to trigger various automatic movements on the machine.

In its new white paper, power management company Eaton describes how machine operating costs can be reduced and productivity increased with a device-level, intelligent wiring and communication system. 

The best way to ensure production lines and their associated constituent part machinery operate more effectively and economically, is through central machine monitoring and process optimisation. Many machines in well-established production lines, which can be up to 30 years old, can still perform their main functional tasks successfully; however they do so much less efficiently than their modern day counterparts.

Appearing on stand A116 in Hall 4, at Industrie Lyon, is ESAB, which is taking place from 4th-7th April 2017 at EUROEXPO LYON, France. ESAB will be exhibiting several products of interest to visitors seeking the latest in welding and cutting. The main product of focus will be the Rebel EMP215iC which is a MIG/TIG/Stick welder, a 120-230V, CC/CV welding system, providing a true multi-process arc performance, location flexibility, lightweight portability and an operator interface with LCD/TFT display.  

Expanding its capabilities to include advanced laser machining and short pulse and ultra-short pulse laser technologies, Putnam Plastics includes an in-house tool shop, which allows it to design custom tooling and fixtures to handle a variety of materials and tubing in need of laser machining.

With its investment in the latest TruPunch 1000 CNC punching machine from TRUMPF, Birmingham-based lighting manufacturer Candela Light has seen a 50% increase in production speed over its two previous turret punch presses. The machine was purchased alongside a TRUMPF TruBend 3066 CNC press brake and the latest TRUMPF TruTops Boost software that allows the company to generate programmes at the touch of a button.

Back in 2012, the doors were opened at FC Laser, by Danny Fantom, with a single Bystronic Bysprint Pro 4.4kW CO2 laser cutting machine. Since then the company has invested in two further laser machines, two press brakes and a move in 2015 to larger premises in Draycott, Derbyshire.

The MasterTug series has been extended by MasterMover, the range of motorised industrial tugs for the construction, manufacturing and heavy goods handling sectors, has been revamped to now include includes the MT30/2000+ PAS tow tug. This allows businesses to boost productivity and efficiency by allowing individual members of staff to transport larger parts and products from the production line without specialist training.

Upgrading two of its presses, a Crabtree FastReady four colour press and a four colour KBA MetalStar, Caldicot Metal Decorating, are increasing performance with GEW UV curing systems to improve reliability and energy efficiency. Caldicot Metal Decorating is a company with a longstanding tradition, and its end products include high quality decorated tinplate aerosols, confectionery boxes, food cans, decorative containers and closures.
