UK Machine builders invited to “meet the challenge“

With speakers from UK Trade and Investment, the China-Britain Business Council, the PPMA, the one day event will run in Hatfield 31st October, Sheffield 7th November and Bristol 14th November.

Chris Evans of Mitsubishi Electric explains “The market place is changing and the question is will your business meet the challenge? We know from our experience that many UK machine builders are considering exporting to areas of the world that they have little or no experience of due to their traditional export markets being affected by factors such as the strength of the pound against the Euro and the general problems within the Euro Zone as a whole. It can be a daunting prospect to consider exporting to an area where the culture is very different, the way of doing business is different and it requires a good deal of investment simply to test the water.”

They will give a “warts and all” appraisal of the task in hand, as well as outlining schemes that give real help to UK businesses contemplating embarking along this strategy.” Chris points out that Mitsubishi can, as the leading automation supplier in the region, offer unrivalled levels of service and support in each territory and total acceptance of the automation platform with the end user base. Many industry sectors are promoting the increased adoption of robotics and automation.

“Machine builders have always been early adopters of high tech solutions,” suggests Chris “but recent innovations in the automation platform have opened up many new possibilities.”

The second part of the conference will focus on how adoption of certain technologies can not only improve machine performance and efficiencies but show how these features can translate into tangible benefits for the machine builder. Chris goes on to say “the approach is to consider things from the machine builder’s perspective and find solutions that will provide features that the machine builder can sell on to their customers but that can be achieved at minimal cost in terms of hardware and engineering time.

The conference is aimed at owners or senior managers, as well as chief engineers and designers.
