Test equipment to be showcased at Manufacturing Technology Centre

Collaboration between Altus Group and Accelonix has taken place in order to host CoNEXTions: SMT Production and Test Equipment for factories of the Future on 29th September 2016. Altus Group is a distributor of capital equipment for electronics assembly, where as Accelonix, is a supplier of electronic and precision manufacturing and test equipment, manufacturing software, support and materials.

The all-day event will be held at the prestigious Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), located in Coventry to showcase the very best in innovative manufacturing, test, manufacturing software and inspection equipment through presentations and demonstrations, along with a guided tour of the venue itself, which boasts a premier conference suite and lavish architecture. On display, will be a host of SMT assembly and test equipment from world leading manufacturers from their respective product portfolios.

Altus and Accelonix will demonstrate a range of products, representing the latest industry trends and developments that centre on intuitive 3D AOI and SPI inspection equipment, fixtureless testing, automated ICT Testing and Device programming  and industry 4.0 innovations.

Accelonix will showcase the latest test solutions from Takaya and Teradyne.  Takaya Flying Probe Tester, a fixtureless tester that is ideally suited for high board mix prototype applications as well as low and medium volume production runs. The Teradyne TSO is a Fixtured system and modular approach to ICT testing that is ideal as volumes increase. Supporting the electronics industry further, Accelonix will also be showing Siemens eMES, a comprehensive Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that provides solutions for the electronics industry and Data I/O who neatly link SMT to Device Programming keeping your WIPP of programmed parts to a minimum.

Altus will present Koh Young’s Zenith full 3D AOI System at the exhibition, enabling visitors to get a first-hand look at how the system inspects and provides quantitative measurements of components. The YJ Link Board Handling module is also on display. As the industry seeks to increase the level and rate of automation implementation to reduce labour costs in any end product, the high-quality board handling products from YJ Link provides the ideal solution to this market demand.

The MTC, which is challenging the boundaries of manufacturing, creates a high-quality environment for the development and demonstration of industrial-scale new technologies and providing a unique opportunity for manufacturers to build new and innovative processes and technologies.

“We are delighted to be able to team up with Accelonix to host this incredible event at the home of some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the world,” said Richard Booth, General Manager, Altus Group.

“It’s a privilege to be able to show existing and prospective customers how innovations in SMT Production and Test Equipment can push manufacturing boundaries, both today and into the future,” added Mark Kenny, Business Sales Manager, Accelonix Ltd.
