At this year’s Southern Manufacturing, 6-8th February at FIVE, Farnborough, igus will showcase a wide range of cost-effective, lightweight and maintenance-free bearings and cable management systems for a variety of engineering applications.
Developed to combine the advantages of the E2/000 and E4.1 in one product range, the E4.1L ‘lean’ features interior clip in slotted separators that provide up to an 80% assembly time saving. Visitors to the stand (E185) will see that the innovative design of these lean separators enables layer-by-layer insertion of shelves and cables, and the time savings are increased again by using the new lean honeycomb strain relief.
Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is another key focus during the show. The recent launch of the online configurator that enables engineers to configure gear wheels. In a few steps, enter the specifications of the required gear wheel – tooth module, number of teeth, width and inner diameter. This automatically displays a 3D model that can be exported as a STEP file and uploaded onto the igus online 3D printing service. With a mouse click, the customer can order printed parts for shipment within 1-3 days, or request a quotation.
Like all drylin systems, the drylin W curved rails and self-aligning carriages are self-lubricating and therefore run maintenance-free. A pivoting spherical ball, made of the engineering plastic, iglidur J, is used to self-align the carriage for smooth, reliable movement along the curved rail.
Throughout the show, the igus team will be on stand E185 to take visitors through the benefits and potential applications of their bearing products and cable management systems, as well as provide insight into the full range of igus products.
