The ubiquitous rivet nut is headlining at the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition on October 29th, with top suppliers Rivetnut Technology, Bollhoff Fastenings, Unifast, BBA, Specialty Fasteners & Components and others on site at the National Motorcycle Museum to discuss technology, delivery and pricing. Rivet nuts remain an essential choice for many applications, and their benefits are still applicable for exciting new applications”
The new BCT (Bulge Control Technology) rivet nut from BBA, available from exhibitors Roy Hopwood Fasteners and Zygology, is said to be “a new and unique design of rivet nut that is changing the face of fastening”. BCT is stated to feature exceptional strength (exceeding the recommended torque loading of Grade 12.9 bolts) and allows reduced length fasteners to be used, with extended grip facility. Rivetnut Technology Systems Ltd (www.rivetnut.co.uk) will be exhibiting many types of rivet nuts in steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, and in a range of head styles and thread sizes. Also on show will be KAPti–nut fasteners to ISO/TS16949:2002 in ISO metric thread forms with a selection of finishes and with manual, pneumatic, electric and cordless tool fitting.

Bollhoff Fastenings Ltd (www.bollhoff.com) will be showing an extensive family of threaded and non-threaded systems for cold joining of dissimilar sheet materials. These eliminate spot welding or riveting, thus providing fast, quiet, cold and emission-free solutions.

The people at Unifast (www.unifast.co.uk) will be demonstrating KAPti-nut high strength systems for automated insertion and the FASTturn panel fixing for automotive and aerospace, as well as their wide custom capability.

Elsewhere, Specialty Fasteners & Components Ltd (www.speciality-fasteners.co.uk) will demonstrate their AeroCatch2 panel fastener and the unique SLIC pin assembly fastener that reduces installation time and component count.

The Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition takes place at the National Motorcycle Museum Birmingham on October 29th 2009. The venue is adjacent to the NEC and offers plenty of free parking right outside the main entrance. VIP Visitors to the show (i.e. currently employed manufacturing personnel) who pre-register in advance have the added advantage of a free Luncheon Voucher, and all visitors also receive a free museum pass (otherwise costing £6.95). Pre-registration may be done at www.fastening-solutions-exhibition.co.uk.
