Parker launches new technology at Offshore Europe 2011
Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will be exhibiting an extensive range of its advanced engineering solutions for the gas and oil industry sectors at this year’s Offshore Europe Exhibition
The company will also be launching a number of new and innovative products that can improve safety, productivity and profitability for OEMs, system builders, and extraction, drilling and process operators.

Parker has been an integral part of oil and gas exploration and production for more than five decades. This experience as technology experts has enabled Parker to develop partnerships with customers around the world with the engineered solutions that today’s energy companies are looking for. These solutions range from deepwater mooring systems, advanced filtration and particle detection systems, and custom umbilicals, to dynamic metal seals, stainless steel piston accumulators, subsea cylinders, and literally hundreds of other certified, advanced technological components to help exploration and production to achieve peak efficiency.

On show for the first time at Offshore Europe 2011 will be an innovative new range of ATEX approved directly operated hydraulic proportional valves, designed for use in Zone 1 areas. The D1FB*EE features explosion proof solenoids, is available with the option of spool/sleeve design for precision or spool/body design for high nominal flow characteristics up to 30l/minute, and has extremely low levels of hysteresis that are typically less than 4%. Response times are fast, at 30ms for a 100% step, with the D1FB*EE also offering superior resistance to vibration and extremes of temperature.

Among other specialised products on show will be the Black Eagle range of abrasion and chemical resistant, multi-spiral, wire reinforced hoses specifically designed to withstand high operating pressures, to over 1,000bar, and temperatures up to 125°C. Black Eagle is available in continuous lengths of up to 3,000m, minimising the need for splicing, and is ideal for applications ranging from methanol injection and well stimulation to acidising and cementing.

Also being exhibited are Parker’s compact and lightweight Moduflex AirGuard pressure sensitive safety air fuses, which are designed to protect operators of pneumatic equipment from the hazards associated with severed or broken compressed-air hose. The fuses are easy to fit and designed instantly to shut-off air flow in the event of a break or leak, where the volume of air exceeds a predetermined value. AirGuard fuses are fully compliant with increasingly stringent safety standards including the Corporate Manslaughter Act and EN ISO 4414.

Parker will also be exhibiting its industry leading range of online and portable condition monitoring instruments and diagnostic equipment used for predictive maintenance programmes. These include energy efficient compressed air filtration treatment technologies as well as hydraulics maintenance solutions that eliminate contamination to the highest quality standards.
