Lafert’s new High Performance motor is intended for the OEM market, offering significant savings on running costs and space requirements. Savings on operating costs can amount to more than 80% whilst the motor’s far superior output to that of standard AC motors enables significant frame size and weight reductions.
This has been achieved by combining the technologies of both brushless permanent magnet servo motors and conventional AC motors. The result is substantial performance advantages over conventional AC motors, including EFF1 machines, with constant and superior efficiency across the whole speed range and under load conditions.
The ability to do this is facilitated by the fact the Lafert Group has both servo and AC motor knowhow in-house.
Lafert specialises in engineered solutions to meet both industry specific requirements, such as needed for the woodworking, marine and railway industries, and application demands like special shafts and housings – the company has 20,000 shaft and flange options on its database plus many non-standard winding configurations. The fact that some 70% of motor production is non-standard machines illustrates the company’s ability and commitment to satisfy customer needs. Special emphasis will be focused on the company’s brake motor range which has seen a 50% growth in just 5 years as result of setting a special division, introduction of EFF1 designs and addition of 160 frame motors, plus new opportunities in lifting applications (cranes, elevators, bridges etc).
Beyond these capabilities, the company provides green solutions such as of motors for electric scooters and generators for micro wind generators for domestic/commercial properties.
