Fluke continues its successful Power Quality and Thermal Imaging Training Seminars
Fluke has extended its successful programme of “hands-on” Power Quality Training Seminars and Thermal Imaging Training Seminars through 2009 at locations around England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
The seminars are designed to offer electricians, electrical engineers and industrial maintenance technicians the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of the latest, powerful, power quality tools and handheld thermal imagers. All seminars are based around real case studies: no previous experience is necessary. The programme can be viewed by visiting the Fluke web site www.fluke.co.uk and clicking on Events/Seminars. At each location, the Power Quality and Thermal Imaging seminars run consecutively for half a day each, at a cost of £50 for one seminar or £75 for both.

The Fluke Power Quality Seminars, based around real case studies, will include hands-on training on how to conduct inspections using a variety of power quality tools, as well as offering a free DVD, Case Studies and Application Notes giving advice on troubleshooting techniques and checking EN50160 compliance.

The modules are:
• Module 1 - Introduction to Power Quality
• Module 2 - Ski Café Example - Voltage Dips
• Module 3 - Wastewater Plant Example - Power Factor
• Module 4 - Chemical Plant Example - Unbalance
• Module 5 - Plastic Plant Example - Harmonics
• Module 6 - Wind Farm Example - Transients
• Module 7 - Introduction to the EN50160 Power Quality Standard
The training will be based on Fluke power quality products, a complete range of rugged Power Quality tools for three-phase systems, offering a choice of solutions for pinpointing power problems faster in a wide range of industrial, commercial and domestic installations. These include the 1740 Series Power Quality Logger Series and the Fluke 1735 Power Logger, as well as two Fluke products offering IEC 61000-4-30 Class A-compliance: the handheld Fluke 430 Series Power Quality Analyser Series and the Fluke 1760 Three-phase Power Quality Recorder.

In the Fluke Thermal Imaging Training Seminars participants will gain practical knowledge about thermal imaging and its benefits, common applications, and preventive/predictive maintenance and troubleshooting practices. In addition to learning about basic thermal imaging theory, participants will see demonstrations of how thermal imaging has been used in actual industrial case studies, and will have the opportunity to practice using various features of Fluke thermal imagers, including IR Fusion®.
