“The fastening and assembly activities of any manufacturer are one of the few areas where instant cost-savings can be made, and these savings can often be accompanied by improvements in quality too – an odd irony, but nonetheless true. Developments in fastening technology aren’t just restricted to new products being introduced regularly by key suppliers: sometimes the most interesting innovations arrive in the form of new tools, new practices and new methods that have been introduced.”
This thread runs through each of the twice yearly exhibitions and the Cosford event on April 29th very much focuses on the theme “Instant manufacturing-cost-reduction opportunities available here” in the basic belief that there is only one event where all the latest cost-reducing opportunities in fastening and assembly are available in one place at one time, and that is the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition.
“We serve a professional audience and treat our visitors accordingly, which is rather different to what our visitors might be accustomed to at most engineering shows” says Mark Newby of organisers NewbyCom. “We don’t do numbers here, we focus instead on delivering a professional learning opportunity for manufacturing professionals with open minds and genuine needs. People who have joined us on the day to discover better ways to put things together, and who share our pride in British manufacturing’s competence, capability, and excellence”.
Open from 10am to 3pm, the show is easily reached from just about every direction, being only 15 minutes from the M6 near Wolverhampton, and one minute from J3 of the M54. The venue offers free parking immediately adjacent to the exhibition. Show entry is free and so is a visit to the superb RAF Museum too.
Moreover, the organisers provide a Complimentary Luncheon for manufacturing professionals who visit the exhibition (along with complimentary tea and coffee), and state that if the fare served is considered good enough for the Officers Mess at RAF Cosford, it should be also be good enough for the engineering community too.
