Eaton to showcase its latest innovations in machine protection

Alongside the real life machine Eaton will also be offering visitors a virtual experience using augmented reality with 3D interactive overlay technology on tablets or smartphones to bring to life different areas of the booth. One virtual experience explores how to easily and effectively comply with the ErP directive whilst significantly reducing energy costs. Another demonstrates how the intelligent wiring and communication system SmartWire-DT can help reduce installation costs, increase development flexibility and machine availability, thereby increasing profitability. A third one takes visitors on a virtual tour of a 3D production machine showing them how Eaton can help solve their electrical and hydraulics challenges as partner for the entire machine.

Key objectives in machine building are to maximise uptime, productivity and safety. Achieving these depends heavily on a successful circuit protection strategy. Eaton’s wide portfolio and deep expertise means it is positioned to help meet these objectives from specification through to installation and maintenance. At the same time, machine builders have to increasingly develop and build more individualised machines, and the ‘face’ of the machine is gaining importance. Eaton brings intuitive user guidance, precision gesture control and multimedia integration to machine building. In Nuremberg, Eaton is also introducing its expanded range of command and control devices that help save installation time.

For the exhibition, ATP Hydraulik AG, which designs and produces hydraulic systems and mechatronic solutions combined with automation, has built the working HPU system. As such, visitors can immediately compare the different dynamics as well as information on energy consumption and cost. SmartWire-DT seamlessly integrates the hydraulic and electrical systems. As such, the intelligent HPU can provide valuable information about the status of the system in terms of temperature, pressure or motor currents.

In cooperation with Muller Martini Electronic AG, a specialist for modular machine architecture and automation, Eaton is also exhibiting innovative control panel solutions. As a leading supplier of systems for machinery and equipment Muller Martini Electronic AG develops and manufactures customized control panel solutions with HMI and electronics that are directly built into the machine.

To meet the demands for increased engineering support from machine and system builders Eaton continues to expand its Authorized Solution Partner network of application specialists, including ATP Hydraulik AG and Muller Martini Electronic AG. At SPS IPC Drives representatives of both companies will be present alongside Eaton representatives, so that visitors have access to experts they can discuss their real-life engineering challenges with.
