Digitising supply chains session at National Manufacturing Conference

It has been revealed that Infor will be playing a major role this year in helping to drive digital awareness at the National Manufacturing Conference. The company will be leading a ground breaking new session on digitising supply chains in a global environment.

It aims to help manufacturers and business leaders grasp the benefits of being a first mover using digital technologies, understand the transformative effect of connected supply chains and the positive impact this can have on the customer experience.

Lisa Pope, Senior Vice President at Infor, will use the session to share her experiences of how firms have used digital technologies to transform their supply chains, delivering different business models with major differentiation and uncovering new revenue streams and cost savings along the way.

She will be joined on stage by two companies, CNH Industrial, which has used technology to make logistics more proactive to better support internal and external customers, and UK builders’ merchants Travis Perkins, which will be talking about disruptive changes it is bringing to the industry by revolutionising the customer buying experience and transforming its behind-the-scenes supply chain.

The session, which will be chaired by BBC Business Correspondent, Steph McGovern, will also cover inventory visibility and certainty of supply, using big data to drive smarter decisions and the benefits of being the disruptor within your own industry.

The move marks the third consecutive year that Infor has added its weight and expertise to the UK’s flagship annual manufacturing conference. The tech provider’s ongoing involvement signifies the strategic importance of collaboration between the two sectors, particularly in driving productivity improvement and grasping opportunities from 4IR.

Terry Scuoler, CEO of EEF, said: “I am delighted that Infor will be lending its support and expertise yet again to UK manufacturing’s annual conference. With the 4th industrial revolution moving ever closer, strong collaboration between our sectors will be critical. There can be no doubt that 4IR will be a game changer for industry – understanding how and when to apply new technologies will be the key to unlocking its full potential.”

Lisa Pope, Senior Vice President at Infor, said:“Technology is a global driving force propelling manufacturers into an exciting new industrial era. This session will be about taking leading UK industrialists on that journey, using other companies’ experiences and our global insights to build their understanding of what 4IR will mean for their company, supply chains and sector.”

EEF’s National Manufacturing Conference will take place in London on Wednesday 22nd February. To register and find out more visit here.
