Sandvik Coromant, will be one of around 2,000 exhibitors at the landmark 50th edition of the Paris Air Show taking place on 17-23 June. The company will present its full range of aerospace solutions for component machining at the show, but will have special emphasis in three areas: the milling of aluminium; the drilling of nickel-based super alloys and titanium; and milling of CFRP composites.

Federal-Mogul Corporation has developed a new mechanical face seal which provides superior protection in extreme environmental conditions compared with conventional solutions. Named HSL the solution uses a unique design of the elastomeric part of the seal to prevent dirt intrusion to sensitive components. Federal-Mogul presented the technology for the first time at the 2013 BAUMA event in Munich, Germany.

Taking a small stand at a big exhibition in Las Vegas may have been the decision of the year by inveterate innovators Sensor Technology of Banbury, Oxon. Visitors to Heli-Expo in March 2013, a show focused on commercial helicopter operators, showed so much interest in Sensor Technology’s intelligent wireless helicopter load sensor that sales manager Mark Ingham expects to double turnover comfortably within the year.

Atlas Copco surprised the market with a new, very compact oil-injected rotary screw compressor from 7 to 37 kW: the 7-37 GA VSD+. Besides a small footprint, it offers a leap forward in Free Air Delivery (improvements of up to 12%), and a breakthrough energy-efficiency: it requires on average 50% less energy than a comparable idling compressor.

Rittal was one of the largest exhibitors at this years CeBIT Exhibition recently held in Hanover, Germany. During a visit to the stand by the German and Polish premiers, Rittal took the opportunity to demonstrate some of the countless new Rittal products on display.

MESA International announces that STI-SlimSoft introduced a new initiative aimed at bringing Manufacturing Operations Management software to the cloud during the MESA North American Conference today. The intent, according to Andrew Waycott, CTO of STI-SlimSoft, is to open up the power of today's Operations Management solutions to a much broader set of customers. Most notably, he said, was that small and mid-sized manufacturers will be able to benefit from advanced capabilities often available only to larger enterprises.
