LMS is pleased to announce the keynote speakers at the 2010 International LMS Simulation Conference to be held at the Munich Airport Marriott Hotel in Munich, Germany on February 24th and 25th. AWS Group believes momentum for SC21 as ‘flagship vehicle for change’ in defence and aerospace sectors is growing
During a recent address to the A|D|S Quality Conference at RAF Cosford, Mike Berridge, Director of Business Improvement for AWS Group - one of the UK’s leading independent Electronic Manufacturing Solutions (EMS) providers - gave his views on the SC21 program, highlighting significant challenges for the defence and aerospace sector. AWS is one of only 16 companies out of 7000 suppliers to the aerospace industry to have been accredited with recognition awards to SC21, and this low figure, said Berridge, was an issue in itself, although he believes momentum is now building.

The October Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition saw peak-time queues forming at the entrance to the show, where exhibitors truly represented the A to Z of leading UK Fastener Suppliers from Alcoa to Zygology. A sure sign that despite the ravages of recent trading conditions, manufacturing industry still has fastening and assembly problems to solve. Once again, UK manufacturers were pulling advantages out of adversity – this time by using the latest fastening technology to improve quality and drive down costs. This increasingly involves design or production changes but invariably has the aim of improving market competitiveness which nowadays takes place against a global backdrop.
