The organisers of WWEM 2012, the Water Wastewater & Environmental Monitoring event, have published the titles for many of the Workshops that will take place in Telford (UK) on the 7th and 8th of November.

Hydraulic tipping gear specialist, Edbro, will be displaying its industry leading products on two stands at this year’s Tip-Ex. As in previous years, visitors to the show will be able to speak to Edbro’s expert sales team and see demonstrations of Edbro equipment inside Hall A, stand 5-6. However, the main event will be Edbro’s largest external stand to date. Spanning from stand OS8 to stand OS14, Edbro will be hosting its traditional BBQ surrounded by 14 trucks, each fitted with Edbro cylinders.

Given that predictive maintenance and condition monitoring are core applications for FLIR Systems thermal imaging cameras, the company will be making another big splash at Maintec.

Never mind the Spa – for the North of the UK the most refreshing thing about Harrogate next year will be the FAST & IASE Exhibitions!

Altair Engineering, Inc., announced that the 5th European HTC, held from November 7th – 9th, attracted more than 500 engineers, managers and simulation experts from 25 countries. Among the broad scope of topics, this year’s conference covered lightweight design, composites, optimization, CFD, NVH, crash, and more. The first conference day started with the academic user day and three technology workshops on CFD, NVH, and composites. Following the workshops, attendees had the opportunity to visit the technology showcase with customers’ exhibits and partner booths to gain insight into innovative client projects and partner solutions.

WWEM 2012, the 5th in a series of highly successful environmental monitoring events, will return to the Telford International Centre on 7th and 8th November 2012.

April in Harrogate is expected to be an interesting month for design and production engineers based in the north of the country, especially those with a remit covering fasteners and adhesives. The FAST & IASE exhibitions, which have found success in the Midlands, London and the Southwest, are now to visit Harrogate on April 26th 2012. FAST showcases everything good in mechanical fastening and IASE (Industrial Adhesives, Sealants & Encapsulants) does likewise in the arena of industrial and engineering bonding.

The in-house exhibition held by Star GB at its Melbourne technical centre from 8th to 10th November 2011 generated eight sliding-head lathe orders valued at almost £1.3 million, the majority for delivery before the end of the year. A total of 150 visitors from 91 companies were welcomed by managing director Bob Hunt and his team, a significant increase compared with last year's show. The eight companies placing orders were all contract manufacturers, two of which were new to Star GB. The mill-turn centres spanned the capacity range from 16 mm through 20 mm to 32 mm, of which four units were sold.
