Position small loads fast
igus has extended its range of linear belt drive actuators with the launch of a smaller version of its DryLin ZLW drive.
DryLin® ZLW-06-30 weighs just 1 kilogram and measures 1 metre in length. It is ideal for handling lightweight loads, is practically silent and fast running. Despite its low weight, it is also extremely robust.

igus® launched the original DryLin ZLW belt drive as the first positioning unit on the market to be fitted with polymer plain bearings. It is maintenance-free, lightweight and can reach speeds of up to 2 metres per second.

The sliding elements are made of igus’ iglidur® J polymer and the bearings are injection moulded from iglidur L250. The housing parts are made of sturdy plastic and the profile of hard-coated aluminium. All connecting screws are made of stainless steel. A second version uses ball bearings for the deflection shafts, which makes higher traverse rates possible. Apart from these bearings, this axis is also completely maintenance and lubrication-free due to the iglidur high performance polymer bearings used.

The derivative ZLW-06-30 was the result of enquiries from industries contending with extremely confined installation spaces, which required some simple changes to enable them to position small loads within cramped conditions.

Matthew Aldridge, Bearings Product Director at igus UK, says, “We believe that there is not a linear drive system on the market that comes close to this in terms of performance and price.”
