New Elmo Gold Line Family Enables Multi-axis Motion Solutions To Be Developed In One, Seamless Motion Control Environment
Providing engineers and machine designers with the latest in cutting edge motion control technology, Inmoco’s new Elmo Gold Line is an evolutionary family of motion products, including intelligent servo drives, a revolutionary, distributed multi-axis network controller, and a network I/O controller. These products provide seamless connectivity (communications, feedback and I/Os), high performance and ease of operation, to create comprehensive, high performance, yet easy to use solutions for modern motion control systems.
The synergy provided by Gold Line products enables engineers to develop synchronised multi-axis distributed motion solutions in one seamless environment, using the combination of Elmo’s Elmo Application Studio (EAS), IEC61131-3, or C Programming, and Common Application Templates.

The EAS is a user-friendly software that provides a unified and intuitive user interface for all the tasks that are carried out during system development and operation. These include system configuration, drive setup and tuning, drive and multi-axis programming, and handling of the overall application files. Complementing the functionality of EAS, Elmo’s Common Application Templates significantly shorten the learning curve and speed up the time-to-market for the optimal implementation of new applications.

The combination of leading edge products and software enables Gold Line to deliver optimal results in the widest range of motion control applications across demanding industries - including semiconductor production, robotics, medical and pharmaceutical, avionics, laboratory automation, printing, sorting, machine tools and materials handling - where precision and deterministic operation are paramount.

Also pivotal to Gold Line’s optimal performance in critical applications is its support for EtherCAT, the industry's emerging networking standard. This allows fast, real-time multi-axis control applications using a distributed control topology.

It enables rapid, reliable and deterministic communication for up to 100 drives, with built-in distributed clock implementation (ripple of less than 1μs) and optional communication redundancy.

The Gold Line also supports CAN networking (CANopen version 3.0), with the added benefit of CANopen 2.0 compliance on the Gold Maestro multi-axis motion supervisor, providing compatibility with Elmo’s SimplIQ family of products. In addition, Ethernet, with a variety of standard protocols, is available to connect the Gold Maestro to a machine’s host computer, PLC or HMI.
