Danfoss Drives introduces the MCA 121 EtherNet/IP™ Option Card. The MCA 121 is a powerful networking tool that enables Danfoss VLT® AutomationDrive users to deploy standard Ethernet technology in manufacturing applications, while also enabling internet and enterprise activity.

Sensor Developments Inc now offers a complete small motor dynamometer system. This new system features our high performance in-line rotating torque sensor and a computer controlled low torque/high speed hysteresis brake allowing for precise torque control. This system is specifically designed to interface with motor controllers and allows manufacturers to test small capacity electric motors under 100in-lbs/12Nm. With our proprietary software, manufacturers can interface with various controllers and exercise them under various braking conditions.

Midwest Motion Products is pleased to announce the release of a new DC Gear Motor, the Model No. MMP-TM55-24V GP52-195.. Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, including battery power, this robust Gear Motor measures just 2.14” in Diameter, by 7.75” long, and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm diameter by 25mm long. Easy mounting is accomplished with 4 “face mount” M5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 40mm Dia. B.C.

The latest PowerRod linear motor system, from Parker Hannifin, is playing a vital role in a series of test machines for a new generation of spacer dampers designed for use on overhead power transmission lines. Developed and produced by UK-based systems house, Computer Controlled Solutions Ltd (CCS), for Tyco Electronics UK Ltd, the test machines use the PowerRod motors and Compax 3 servo drive to replace conventional motor and cam mechanisms, helping to minimise setup time and provide high levels of reliability during tests of twenty million cycles, equivalent to around 5,000 km of travel.

Sprint Electric has increased its range of digital DC drives. Both 2 Quadrant and 4 Quadrant options are now available up to 1050 Amps.

QuickSilver Controls, Inc. expands its line of brushless AC servo motors with the QCI-A34M-1. This is the least expensive 34 frame motor designed to run on the SilverNugget N3 servo motor controller/driver.

Nord Drivesystems has launched a variant of its Nordac SK500 family of frequency inverter drives incorporating sophisticated position control capabilities. Called Posicon, the new functionality supports closed-loop applications with sophisticated motion control features such as the ability to program relative or absolute positioning, synchronising, gearing and S-ramp movement profiles.

A range of brushless servo motors with a separate rotor and stator design, aimed at the smooth precise control and direct-drive of large inertia or high torque loads, is available from precision motion specialists Heason Technology Limited. The Megaflux thin-ring torque motor from USA manufacturer Emoteq Corporation has an inherently large diameter-to-length ratio - from 150 mm x 30 mm to 760 mm x 123 mm – and covers continuous stall torque from 3 Nm to over 2000 Nm.
