PPT VISION IMPACT® 9.1 Software Suite Features Pinpoint Pattern Find™ to Solve High-Speed Inspections with Sub-Pixel Accuracy

PPT VISION announces IMPACT® 9.1 Software Suite, the latest edition in the company’s sophisticated machine vision software platform. IMPACT 9.1 enhances the previous pattern find tool with its powerful Pinpoint Pattern Find™ tool, which offers exceptional functionality and ease of use. With the Pinpoint Pattern Find tool, IMPACT 9.1 solves even more challenging applications—including robotic guidance and high-speed inspection of randomly oriented, scaled, and located parts—with sub-pixel accuracy.

“This dramatic technology improvement means IMPACT 9.1 can solve more pattern-related applications than at any time in PPT VISION’s 27 years of engineering machine vision technology,” stated Bob Heller, CEO of PPT VISION. “The new release exemplifies PPT VISION’s continuous efforts to use customer feedback as our guide in delivering software that is both easier to use and packed with more powerful algorithms.”

The versatile new Pinpoint Pattern Find tool adds to the IMPACT family of over 120 tools and algorithms. PPT VISION application engineers, in conjunction with their distribution and integration partners, use this comprehensive toolset to deliver flexible, custom solutions for solving complex manufacturing inspection processes. With the IMPACT 9.1 Software Suite, users save months of labor and expense over custom computer vision systems.

Engineers design custom inspections using IMPACT’s Vision Program Manager (VPM), which features intuitive icons for drag-and-drop configuration—with no programming language knowledge required. IMPACT also features Control Program Manager (CPM), a powerful tool that empowers IMPACT inspection designers to build a custom graphical user interface (GUI), complete with multiple levels of logins and passwords to ensure the security of inspection programs.
