The automotive industry were early adopters of Form-in-Place gaskets (FIPGs) to replace conventional gaskets and o-rings; many applications being in the powertrain system. Historically the most common uses were to prevent the ingress of dust, moisture and fluids, but an increasing number of manufacturers in new markets with many different requirements are transitioning to liquid gaskets and automated dispensing because of the huge cost savings and increased productivity that can be achieved. 

Techsil Ltd announced an agreement with ThreeBond to act as their sole technical distributor in the UK. Mick Beeson, Techsil’s new Business Development Director (formerly with ThreeBond) comments, “It is felt that Techsil's long and successful business of supplying and developing adhesive and sealant solutions to the leading manufacturers dovetails perfectly with Threebonds product range and strategic positioning. Techsil Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Mick Beeson as Business Development Director.

Momentive Performance Materials has developed IVS4742, a self bonding LED encapsulant material with a viscosity and clarity that enables low pressure direct on-board lens moulding.

Techsil has launched a two phase protection system for LED lighting modules consisting of a top coat and a base coat. The two materials can be applied consecutively and will cure concurrently; reducing production time to a matter of hours.

Techsil is delighted to announce that Chris Dilley has joined the board as Sales Director. Chris joins the team from Chemence where he has for the last 12 years fulfilled the role of Business Development Director. At Techsil he will work alongside existing directors Paul Hughes and Andy Briars helping steer the business to achieve its organic growth plans and identify future acquisitions.
