Rittal has responded to customer requests by updating their online subrack configurator. No longer limited to only those units shown in the catalogue, the subrack configurator now includes all the subracks possible from the parts in the product range. Almost 1000 different combinations are available for merging into a printable bill of materials which can be submitted directly for a quotation.

Rittal’s wide range of subracks, all branded under the Ripac banner, provide users with multiple options for housing several printed circuit boards or plug-in modules in a 19” rack environment.

Rittal have just launched their new range of PMC 12 UPS systems based on one of the most robust design topologies. The PMC 12 takes the strain in the event of mains electrical supply problems ensuring a secure supply. It can be used as tower or as a 19 mountable system, with a LCD display, and is available in 1, 2, 3, 4.5 and 6kVA sizes. Adjustable for current needs, both the 4.5kVA and 6kVA versions can be paralleled to give additional power or additional resilience.

EPLAN launched the new version of EPLAN Electric P8 2.0 in August 2010. Extended CAD functions in the area of free graphics now guarantee clear production specifications. Trimming and chamfering as well as perpendicular and tangential design are only some of the functions that support detailed representations for mechanical production. To place graphical objects XY coordinates can now be directly entered in EPLAN Electric P8. This lets you quickly create operators’ desks and flange plates, with all the information needed for trouble-free production, and saves engineering time and speeds up enclosure construction.

Last year Rittal launched its new award winning thermoelectric cooling unit into the market. With a 100W cooling capacity and only weighing 3kg it is the lightest and most efficient thermoelectric cooling unit available.

Following a great deal of investment into machinery and equipment RITTAL has launched a new service branded RittalXpress. The main aim of the service is to save customers time and money by placing orders via an online configurator, or by contacting the designated RittalXpress team.

Rittal’s new Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) system operates by drawing in warm air from the server enclosures at the top of the unit and then cooling it either with water or Dx Refrigerant R407c in a closed heat exchanger. The cooled air is then filtered and blown under positive pressure to the false floor from where it rises into the cold aisle.

One of the biggest enemies for users of outdoor enclosures is the onset of cold weather and with it the possibility of condensation within the structure. In order to eliminate this unwanted natural event, Rittal has introduced heaters for their outdoor cabinet range to keep the chill off delicate electronics housed within them. These, coupled with some enclosures incorporating a double wall design, can ensure the installed equipment works faultlessly throughout periods of miserable weather.

Rittal has introduced a rapid assembly subrack to save valuable time in production. The horizontal rails are pre-fitted with assembly screws and simply drop into slots in the side plates prior to being tightened up.

Different applications demand different solutions and Rittal has released a new easy-to-read 16 page brochure to help clients choose the right outdoor enclosure for their application.

Rittal’s “System” concept provides a total solution for the housing of sophisticated electronic equipment down to humble connections. The specifically designed range of enclosures is not limited to electrical or electronics use and can provide a waterproof and weatherproof environment for other technologies.

Rittal has introduced a standardised coding system which provides 4096 different coding options on a 6U plug-in printed circuit board.

Breaking the mould of typical industrial chillers the new Top Therm modular units from Rittal are integrated into a standard Rittal TS 8 enclosure system that can be stand alone or part of a suite of panels. Three modules, namely the hydraulic, cooling and electrical modules make up the system and the air intake can be changed depending on the application. A vertical arrangement means that space saving on site can be significant.

Rittal’s new connector gland offers significantly less assembly work, a flexible sealing system for different cable diameters and simple entry of pre-assembled cables for easy routing.

Handling fibre and the new 10 Gb/s augmented category 6 cabling in data centres is becoming significantly more difficult to deal with. With greater core diameters, which in turn cause larger bend radii, the enclosure is no longer a secondary consideration. Both the Rittal TS 8 and TE7000 range of enclosures provide advanced cable management such as gland plate modules with brush strip for cable entry, grooved cable routing panels and also fibre-optic shunting rings where strain relief and bend radii are guaranteed.
