Heason Technology launches modular positioning actuator system for life science sampling applications
Heason Technology has launched a new low- cost modular actuator range for pick & place and sample dispensing in life science and other analytical equipment applications. The PLA range features an extruded anodised aluminium housing with a stepper motor driven leadscrew drive and precision recirculating ball linear guide bearings. The range is supplied complete with microstepping drives and a motion controller for a complete solution that is easily integrated into the customers’ machine.

Heason Technology has been awarded a £ ¼ million order by Synchrotron Soleil, the French national synchrotron facility and research laboratory. Heason are to design and manufacture four nanopositioning manipulators that combine as a 14 axis ultra-high vacuum and low magnetic motion system to position samples and optics for an exciting new soft x-ray scanning photoemission microscope project called ANTARES.

Heason Technology supplies 24 kNm custom-built frameless torque motor for direct-drive submarine winch application
Heason Technology Ltd has worked in partnership with USA motion specialists Allied Motion Inc, to deliver 700 mm diameter brushless and frameless torque motors for UK defence manufacturer QinetiQ as an integral part of its Towed Array Handling System (TAHS). With a separate rotor and stator design delivering a continuous stall torque of almost 7 kNm and maximum torque approaching 24 kNm, the custom built Megaflux series motor directly drives a large winch used to deploy sonar array systems equipment on submarines.

ZF Industrial's Servoplan® PG precision grade planetary gearboxes are available in the UK from Heason Technology Limited. Aimed at demanding servomotor drive applications, with ratios between 3:1 and 100:1 and output torques from 25 to 3000 Nm, the low backlash German manufactured range is fully interchangeable with other major brand servo gearboxes. The modular design allows a wide choice of mounting and output shaft configurations as well as assembly to almost all brushed and brushless servomotors - including Heason's own AKM series from Danaher.
