The Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine (SPMM) from AB Dynamics, is used by global vehicle manufacturers, vehicle standards test houses and tier-one component suppliers for the measurement of kinematics and compliance (K&C) testing as part of progressive R&D and for production quality control. 

Already partnering with a number of global component manufacturers, Heason has announced one of its distribution partners, Zettlex, has recently added a high pressure option to its comprehensive range of durable inductive angle encoders - which in turn expands the application potential for positioners and actuators for use in subsea, oil and gas and industrial high pressure process environments.

Returning to the Drives and Controls show this year, Heason Technology will be exhibiting dynamic working demonstrations highlighting the latest decentralised motion technologies. As a UK Certified Channel Partner for KOLLMORGEN, Heason Technology will showcase two working displays highlighting unique benefits from KOLLMORGEN´s motion components.

At this year’s FoodEx Heason Technology has announced it will be demonstrating and highlighting its latest decentralised motion technologies and washdown capable servo motor technology. Application engineers will be on hand to discuss individual requirements and visitors to Stand AA260 can view a range of high-precision mechatronic components and control examples on display from many of Heason´s supply partners.

The TwinSpin high-precision gear unit range from Spinea has been expanded with a new generation version of its integrated radial-axial bearing gear reducer which offers significantly improved performance. Following a re-design of the main bearing system and implementation of advanced manufacturing technology, the new TwinSpin G series has much reduced bearing friction and hysteresis for lower lost motion.

Returning to the Engineering Design Show this year, Heason Technology has a full line-up of motion control components from its distribution partners as well as working demonstrations displaying the leading UK motion control supplier and system integrator’s capability for the complete design and build of customised motion systems.

Global designer and manufacturer of advanced Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators, Ansible Motion, has been closely associated with the motorsports industry throughout its history, but nowadays also serves major road car and speciality vehicle manufacturers.

Recently announced by Spinea and available in the UK from Heason Technology, the DriveSpin DS 095 series integrates the TwinSpin high-load capacity trochoidal gear unit and a powerful AC servomotor with servo feedback for a rotary actuator solution for precision motion applications. The inline (non-hollowshaft) design of the DS 095 fulfils the gap between the DS 70 and DS 100 models to provide a rated torque of up to 85Nm and maximum lost motion and hysteresis values of less than one arc-min.

Specialising in the global security and military communications sector, SystemWare Europe has many capabilities involving the supply and comprehensive support of line of sight/beyond line of sight secure communications requiring the integration of innovative antenna systems with highly accurate directional azimuth/elevation positioning equipment.

The DriveSpin (DS) range of ultra-compact and high-torque rotary positioning actuators from Spinea integrate an AC servomotor and feedback device with the TwinSpin high-load capacity reduction gear unit. The DS range available from Heason Technology has now been expanded to include a new variant that offers additional mounting possibilities.

The Gold Bee series from Elmo Motion Control are high intelligence density servo drives for extreme environments. Available with full support from Heason Technology, Elmo Motion’s UK distribution partner, the ultra-small PCB mount package, measuring just 35x30x14.4mm, can deliver up to 4,000W of power with current ratings to 50A at 100VDC. The drive has a range of features including a choice of EtherCAT or CANopen networking, Safe Torque Off and multiple feedback options. 

Specifically designed to meet the needs of latest technology flowpack packaging machines, is the recently launched SVTS B series IP65 sealed slip ring assembly. The new slip ring, launched by Heason Technology, enables the transfer of electrical power and temperature sensor signals between the machine’s control system and its continuously rotating weld-and-cut sealing blades.

Now available from Heason Technology, is the company’s new SVTS B Series (SRC 032M) series IP65 sealed slip ring assembly that is specifically designed to meet the needs of latest technology flowpack packaging machines.

Recently announced by Kollmorgen and available from Heason Technology, its UK Gold Partner, the new ERD series stainless steel linear actuators combine the well proven AKMH series servo motors with long life ballscrew driven transmissions as IP69K-rated fully housed packages that are ready-to-install in food produce or pharmaceutical machinery and other high-hygiene applications. 

Thomson’s new ML series stepper motors with integrated leadscrews offer machine builders a flexible linear motion solution that saves space, provides increased load capacity and improved efficiency. Available in the UK from Thomson’s authorised distributor, Heason Technology, the motorised leadscrews are available in NEMA size 11, 14, 17 and 23 frame stepper motors with a choice of novel and patent pending rotating screw or rotating nut styles. 

At Drives and Controls 2016 Heason Technology will present its capability for the complete design and build of customised motion systems with a fully functioning hexapod demonstration based on EtherCAT decentralised control as well as a comprehensive selection of electronic and mechanical motion components from its distribution partners.

With dynamic load ratings up to 10 kN, stroke lengths to 1000 mm, IP69K protection and optional on-board control electronics including J1939 CAN bus, Thomson’s new Electrak HD series electric linear actuators have the power and flexibility for demanding positioning applications in agricultural machinery, utility vehicles, construction site equipment and more. Available in the UK from Thomson’s authorised distributor, Heason Technology, the heavy-duty actuator offers 50% higher load capacity and 60% longer stroke lengths than previous designs and at comparable loads is faster than the competition. With its impressive features and extended operational capability the Electrak HD is ready to challenge traditional hydraulic cylinder applications for electric conversion.

Elmo Motion Control’s recently launched Gold Oboe direct-on-line networking servo drive is now available from Heason Technology, Elmo’s UK distribution and systems integration partner. With continuous power capability to 5.7 kW, the Gold Oboe is reckoned to be the smallest servo drive in its class. Running on 13A/230 VAC single phase or 10A/480 VAC three phase, the diminutive drive delivers high precision servo motor control in an extremely small volume which suits applications where minimum weight and physical size are paramount. 

Dover Motion’s recently announced XMG series miniature micropositioning stages feature a new cutting-edge linear motor design that delivers up to five times more force and twice the force density when compared to similar competitive products. Available in the UK from Heason Technology, the XMG is perfectly placed for demanding applications that demand rapid speeds and smooth motion with extremely consistent and stable velocity or force characteristics – especially where a small form factor is essential. These higher force characteristics translate into much improved throughput capability with benefits that include more moves-per-minute for part positioning, faster step & scan cycles, increased focussing rates and faster frame capture times. 

A miniature autofocussing stage which can operate under flight conditions for shock and vibration with extreme temperature variation and intense orientation changes has been developed by the piezo-ceramic motor and systems manufacturer Nanomotion. Represented in the UK by Heason Technology, Nanomotion’s direct-drive piezo-ceramic motor technology is characterised by extreme accuracy and precise movement with high resolution and low settling times, coupled with extensive velocity and force dynamics.
