Emerson has announced the release of the PAINE 226-30-0020 Series Transmitter. Designed specifically for remote submersible applications, the PAINE 226-30-0020 Series meets the requirements of CIA 443 (SIIS Level 2 device) providing the intelligent CANopen digital networking solution for the measurement of subsea media pressures and temperatures.

Emerson Process Management announced today that over the last year the company has been selected to install its Ovation® control technology at six new solar plants in Spain. These plants, along with an Ovation installation at an operating solar power plant, will provide 350 MW of clean energy to Spain’s power grid, enough electricity to power roughly 70,000 homes.

Emerson Process Management announced today that it has won a contract to apply its PlantWeb® digital plant architecture with the Ovation® expert control system at the Pingdingshan Luyang coal-fired power plant in China’s Henan Province. Because of its location – near a coal mine and in central China – the plant is expected to more efficiently and cost effectively produce the additional megawatts needed to support the region’s economic development.

To accelerate deployment of Field Device Integration (FDI) technology, key automation suppliers have agreed to enlarge the scope of the EDDL Cooperation Team and will become the FDI Cooperation. The intent is to assure a uniform device integration solution for process industries across all host systems, devices and protocols as required by end users.

Emerson announces the release of the 475 Field Communicator 3.2, which includes the new ValveLink Mobile application. ValveLink Mobile allows users to access predictive diagnostics from Fisher FIELDVUE digital valve controllers in the field and transfer the results to AMS™ Suite, the industry-leading predictive maintenance application, for in-depth analysis and documentation. The 475 Field Communicator provides universal support for all HART®, WirelessHART™, and FOUNDATION™ fieldbus devices, and is intrinsically safe so it can be used anywhere in the plant.

Emerson Process Management announced today that it has won a contract to install its Scenario® simulation technology at the new 515-MW Paju Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Plant. The contract was awarded by the Korea District Heating Corp. (KDHC).

Emerson Process Management has been awarded a contract to update the instrumentation and controls on units 5 and 6 of the largest lignite-fired power plant in Europe, the Belchatow Power Plant in Poland. This project is part of a major reconstruction and modernization program that is intended to improve plant performance, increase availability and reduce environmental impact.

Emerson Process Management’s Smart Wireless network has replaced local hardwired high-temperature trip protection on 20 hazardous duty chemical pumps at the Dyno Nobel Inc. ammonium nitrate production facility at Louisiana, Missouri. The new Ammonium Nitrate Pump High Temperature Protection & Monitoring System has produced a significant improvement in plant safety, increased operator awareness of the condition of these pumps, and reduced the potential for plant or environmental damage due to a fire and/or chemical release. In addition, the company saved $30,000 to $40,000 on system engineering and installation.
