Elesa have introduced Brass bodied versions of their high specification oil level indicators with scratch resistant glass. These are likely to be of interest for external applications where electrical continuity and low spark energy are required, coupled with clarity of readings even under abrasive conditions.

Elesa have brought their expertise in glass reinforced technopolymer to the humble indexing plunger. Their new PMT 100 and PMT 101 are perfect examples of high quality at reduced cost. The threaded body in reinforced technopolymer is lightweight and low friction for smooth easy operation in production or measurement equipment where frequent quick indexing is required.

Hinges tend to be simple things, but occasionally a company such as Elesa comes along with a really useful and rather different idea. In this case a screw adjustable friction setting, which allows users to set the opening force of the door so that it may stay partially open, or will dampen down the action of the wind in outdoor situations.

Given their application which is often on display and with frequent use, these are factors which are important to all types of equipment from quick assembly systems to temporary placement jigs or workpieces. Typically these may be on vehicles, conveyors, machines, stands or indeed wherever a quick and solid clamp action is needed.

Standard components from market leader Elesa have many advantages – quality, fit and performance being crucial aspects as well as cost savings associated with these benefits. An often overlooked aspect however is the great deal of R&D that goes into the production of each individual component. Elesa’s CFS hinge for hazardous areas has a built-in security switch to suit Category 1 areas and works so as to switch off equipment when a door or panel is opened. Elesa’s capability in plating glass reinforced polyamide technopolymer has led to their recent introduction of a semi-gloss chrome version of their popular VC range of 5 lobe grip knobs for clamping, locating or fixing – especially for use in harsh environments such as marine or food processing.

Clamping element innovator Elesa have again found a novel new take on adjustable clamping handles – by reducing the angle of the handle to 90o they have lowered the profile by up to 21mm so that there is less protrusion into work areas – an important factor where space or garment “snagging” is an issue.

Elesa’s really comfy to use Ergostyle range of machine elements now includes the ERM range of adjustable clamping handles in epoxy coated zinc die. These handles are a real advantage where space is tight since they allow partial tightening with a limited arc, then release and reverse to tighten again over the same arc. Other applications include repetitive clamping applications where the speedy ratchet style action greatly enhances operator comfort and productivity.

Elesa have introduced a new range of eccentric cam operated levers ideally suited to equipment mounting on tubular frameworks. The Elesa GN927 series are designed for attachment to medical furniture, wheelchairs, trolleys, orthopaedic seating, therapeutic products, bicycles or other mobile equipment where rapid fixing/removal or re-positioning is required, e.g. rapid assembly of mobile stands or supports.

Elesa have an extensive range of ESD compatible standard machine components, including their M443-ESD grab handle and three variants of their BT fluted grip knob.

Elesa’s HCL column level indicators are the sort of thing one would use in lengths from 300mm to 2,000mm for oil tanks or other bulk liquid containers. As such, mechanical protection of the sight tube is an important feature - which is provided in the HCL by means of a U shaped aluminium channel running around three sides of the tube and also carrying the easy to read graduated contract scale.
