  A forum, on machining of composites, to be held at The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing, will be supported by DMG MORI on 21st September.

Types of gas springs have been designed to suit a range of mechanisms currently being used, with the aim of a controlled clamping force.

Dynamatic-Oldland Aerospace is installing a DMG MORI DMC 340 U RS4 Giga Milling Centre in a new purpose built unit at its Swindon facility, the first machine of this type in the private sector in the UK. With a capacity of 3,400 mm in X, 3,400 mm in Y and 2,000 mm in Z this machine has four pallets, is capable of handling workpieces of 16 tons, has a rapid traverse rate of 60m/min and a tool magazine holding 180 tools each of which can weigh up to 30 kg. James Tucker, Managing Director of Dynamatic Limited UK says, “The versatility of this machine in the manufacture of complex parts in aluminium alloy, steel and titanium alloy fits well into our existing machine pool. The machine, expected to be delivered this June, will help us to serve our existing and new customers and deliver larger and much more challenging parts.”

The MTC (Manufacturing Technology Centre) in Coventry is exhibiting the Porsche 919 Hybrid racing car in its reception area until the start of the MACH show, when it will move to the DMG MORI stand at the NEC in hall 5 on stand 5610.

MACH 2016 from 11th to 15th April 2016 will give UK companies the ideal opportunity to see a line-up of 14 DMG MORI machines under power including advanced additive manufacturing with the LASERTEC 65 3D and 5 new APPs for CELOS, aimed at intelligent Industry 4.0 production, as well as the impressive Porsche 919 Hybrid racing-car on its stand 5610 at the entrance to Hall 5 of the NEC.
