Portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services company, Creaform have announced that educational institutions can receive 50 free bundle licenses of the VXmodel scan-to-CAD software and VXinspect dimensional software with the purchase of any of the company’s 3D scanners or portable CMMs.

In its 3rd year, Creaform’s Student Project Sponsorship Program received more than 85 applications from over 100 student teams around the world. Creaform has announced major improvements to the functionality of VXinspect, the only solution to offer an intuitive workflow in a simple and flexible dimensional inspection software, including additional geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) capabilities, cross-sections options, and much more.

AMETEK Creaform has introduced VXinspect, a powerful and intuitive 3-D inspection software that includes all the tools for first article inspection and quality control. VXinspect provides simple integration for contact (probing) and non-contact (scanning) measurement in numerous manufacturing applications. The dimensional inspection software is designed to be used in combination with the company’s HandyPROBE, MetraSCAN 3D and HandySCAN 3D portable measurement devices.

Creaform announced today the opening of its US-based corporation and offices in Costa Mesa, California. The opening of this new office is the result of the growing demand for Creaform’s portable measurement solutions as well as its dedication to better support its ever-expanding US customer base. Moreover, it complements Creaform’s current American presence.

Creaform has launched today the MetraSCAN-R series of robot-mounted optical CMM 3D scanners for automated inspection on and off the production line. The devices will be world premiered at the CONTROL tradeshow held next week in Stuttgart, Germany (Hall 5, booth #5108). Manufacturers trying to remain competitive are facing major challenges, as they have to answer to a demand for more complex and superior quality products and deliver them within ever shortened turnarounds and production cycles.

Acuren Group and Creaform have entered into a commercial and technical partnership agreement covering the deployment of the Pipecheck inspection solution in North America for external corrosion and mechanical damage on pipelines and in facilities. Acuren has been an early adopter of laser scanning technology, having worked with the technology since 2009. In response to strong demand, Acuren has just taken delivery of 20 Pipecheck systems and had their technicians trained by Creaform. The systems are being deployed across Canada and the U.S. to support the needs of their clients.

Creaform today announced its financial results for 2012. Once again, the company has had a very successful year with C$44.5 million in annual sales, which makes for an organic growth of 19% over 2011. 2012 technology sales show a YOY growth of 38%, with 74% in Q4.
