The refurbishment of the famous Fraserburgh Fish Markets was part of a civil engineering project managed by The Halcrow Group of Glasgow on behalf of the market operators, The Fraserburgh Harbour Commissioners. Star Refrigeration were appointed as principal contractors for the project which, in addition to a refrigeration installation, also included the responsibility for the coordination of all associated works including building work, insulation, electrical, fire and security systems. Star Refrigeration specified BITZER compressor receiver sets for the refrigeration requirements of two fish market buildings each of approximately 4500m3 and having an operating temperature requirement of 0º- 2°C.

Bitzer UK’s Training Courses for 2008 will cover Compressor Product Training, Reciprocating and Screw Compressors Training as well as Diagnostics and Problem Solving. They are one day courses held on various dates throughout the year at the company’s Milton Keynes headquarters.

For industrial refrigeration applications, Bitzer UK has now introduced two new robust ranges of screw compressors - the semi-hermetic 85 and the open 85 series.

BITZER has won the globally prestigious 2007 Frost & Sullivan Award for European Competitive Strategy Leadership. The presentation of the award was made to the company at the Excellence Awards Banquet held on 4 December at the Guoman Cumberland Hotel, London. Accepting the Award on behalf of BITZER were Peter Schaufler, Chief Executive Officer, Christof Senk, Managing Director, Hans Meurer, Chief Sales Officer, and Christian Wahlers, Chief Financial Officer.
