WELCON & DANISH CRANE BUILDING reach new heights

For WELCON´s paint shop, DCB delivered two cranes, one 2x40 ton and another 150 ton, utilising several of VERLINDES hoists, such as the EUROBLOC VT11, VT3 and VT5 that could handle the greater capacitiesas well as the heights required to complete the WELCON project. The installation project took two weeks. VERLINDE´s EUROBLOC VT11 hoist was selected for its rapid and variable hoisting speed, the optimal position of its trolley wheels that ensures the best load distribution and for the increased life span of the hoist rope due to the large diameter drum. The EUROBLOC VT3 and VT5 hoists also offer variable traveling speed for precise positioning of loads as well as low voltage control for more safety.

Furthermore, the two hoists feature high technology features, such as the very high wire rope/drum diameter ratio that increases wire rope longevity and reduces the approach dimensions of both the hook and hoist. One of the challenges faced during the project was in order to get the height of the lift that WELCON required for the two 40 ton cranes, DCB and VERLINDE had to make a special double girder crane with a hoistin between two girders. DCB and VERLINDE´s cutting-edge crane and hoist systems were able to meet WELCON´s requirements for their paint shop and ensure that installation process was a success.
