Stainless Steel Milling Boosted By New Insert Grade
Sandvik Coromant is launching a new milling grade, GC1040, aimed at providing a cost effective and high quality cutting insert solution to the extremely tough machining of austenitic stainless and duplex materials. Machine shop customers now have a grade that can be relied upon to perform securely with consistently sharp cutting edges, low forces and slow wear.
GC1040 is now Sandvik Coromant’s first choice recommendation for shoulder milling with small diameters in fine to medium roughing. The cutting tool and tooling systems specialist says the new grade is extremely secure in unstable conditions and safe for unmanned production, time after time. Grade GC1040 is available to suit a broad range of CoroMill® cutters.
