SIMPLE, AFFORDABLE LASER CUTTING FROM TRUMPF
Commenting at the world launch of the TRUMPF TruLaser 1030, Stephan Bundschu, the machine’s development manager said, “There is no other laser cutting machine like it on the market. It features all the benefits of TRUMPF technology at an incredible price.”
In summary the TruLaser 1030 is a space-saving, entry level machine that is easy to operate. This compact machine has a footprint of just 25 square metres.

The low weight of the TruLaser 1030 means that a floor thickness of 100mm is completely adequate. There is no need to strengthen foundations or drill holes for floor anchors. As a result the machine can be in production within days after delivery.

Simple operation is key to this model and it introduces a special concept that allows the customer to choose between ‘beginner’ and ‘professional’ levels. For those new to the technology, the touch panel only shows the keys that are needed for fast component cutting.

Functions such as start, stop and pause are similar to those found on a home entertainment CD player. The user is guided intuitively through the programme with technology tables running automatically in the background.

At the professional level, the operator has the option of adapting all of the technology values. And, with integrated workshop programming he or she can move from the geometry file to the finished cutting programme in just five steps.

The TruLaser 1030 combines a rugged drive system and machine construction with a TRUMPF TruCoax 2kW diffusion-cooled RF laser resonator to provide a highly cost effective laser cutting system. The resonator itself is highly compact and has very low gas consumption. With a simultaneous axis speed of 85m/min, the TruLaser 1030 can cut mild steel in thicknesses up to 15mm.

Various customer types have been identified for the TruLaser 1030. It is ideal for laser novices who want to bring outsourced work in-house or who, for cost and weight reasons, are switching from machining components out of solid to making them from sheet metal. It also meets the requirements of manufacturers wishing to expand their production capacity. They can, for example, produce prototypes and low volume products on the TruLaser 1030 and use the capacity of other machines for larger orders. The TruLaser 1030 is also viable as an inexpensive training machine.
