PLANT NAPPY – THE OUTDOOR BUNDING SOLUTION

The Plant Nappy is particularly suited to outdoor use applications as any collected rainwater passes freely out through the retaining walls while pollutants remain trapped within the Nappy for safe disposal; a proactive function that protects the ground from contamination without constant monitoring. It can successfully be used on uneven ground as well as slight inclines, ensuring that companies are always protected against environmental damage from pollution when using virtually any form of mobile plant.

These lightweight and easily transportable units provide the necessary spill and leak containment for small plant equipment, where the escape of fuels, lubricating oil or pumped liquids could lead to land or water course contamination. They provide a simple, cost effective solution to good environmental practice, while helping to prevent prosecutions or fines resulting from harmful pollution. The Plant Nappy can be supplied in large (1370 x 2000mm), medium (685 x 1000mm) and small (500 x 685mm) sizes, offering spillage retention capacities of 16, 4.5 and 2 litres respectfully.

They are suitable for use with a wide range of static and mobile equipment, as typically utilised on construction and utilities repair sites, refuelling and roadworks operations, outdoor events and catering services as well as general emergency leak/contamination situations. The product will also be of interest to personnel involved with The National Trust, parks and country estates, forestry, waterways, marinas and boat operators.

The Plant Nappy is ruggedly constructed to withstand all weather and site location conditions, while being highly visible and more versatile compared to rigid spill trays. Mobile plant can simply be rolled into position without damaging the flexible side walls, while the Nappy base material in contact with the ground is impervious to oil, fuel and pollutant fluid seepage. The base top cover and side walls are manufactured from vinyl coated polyester mesh. The sidewalls and base also incorporate a polypropylene fibre and polyester yarn fill, which is itself neither toxic or hazardous but as a soak filter provides a high ratio of oil to fabric weight adsorption. The total nappy structure is abrasion and UV resistant, with high tensile strength, suitable for extended external use even in rough terrain and muddy conditions, with a temperature resistance of -20° to 107°C.

Cleanable replacement Nappy refills are also available to extend the useful life of the Plant Nappy units. Economical, highly absorbent, disposable spillpods that provide additional pollutant retention capacity in excess spill or leakage conditions can also be used.
