Four new overhead cranes provide critical roles in new facility

“From early 2015, Konecranes was actively involved with the product selection, feasibility and effectiveness of our overhead crane requirements for our new build facility,” he said.

“Regular meetings assisted with the technical and commercial aspects of the project, of which Konecranes, and especially Andy Garbett, West District Sales Manager, provided a high level of customer service, knowledge and experience,” said Killoh.

CXT cranes, with individual hoist capacities up to 80 tonnes – and complementary CXT wire rope hoists – are designed to be industry benchmarks of safety and ergonomics, with easy and effective load handling and optimum dimensions for space saving solutions.

IOT Group will predominantly be using the cranesfor the assembly, disassembly and maintenance of downhole tools, tubular and casing running equipment and completions of sub-assembly services for the oil and gas industry.

“All aspects of the design, ordering, manufacture, assembly, installation, commissioning and certification were exemplary, with no incidents, injuries or non-productive time occurring during the 12-month project, up to completion in mid-2016. I would certainly recommend Konecranes for any project,” added Killoh.

CXT cranes were a good fit for IOT Group, said Konecranes West District Sales Manager, Andy Garbett.
