EUROSYSTEM ALU stands out through its ease of assembly. First of all, the lightness of the hollow aluminium profiles allow a positioning and easy handling for assembly. They can all be moved and positioned manually without any specific lifting equipment. The elements are simply bolted together, as well as the systems fastening to the load-bearing structure, and no special tools are required. The profiles' external grooves are then compatible with the standardised ITEM fastening system. The profiles are then manufactured by extrusion which gives them substantial geometric homogeneity and assembly without any mechanical adjustments to be made.
Thanks to VERLINDE's EUROSYSTEM ALU, the weight of the aluminium hollow-profile handling system is reduced by 50% compared to a traditional steel structure. In the case of new buildings, renovations or extensions, considerable savings are achieved on the maintenance holding structure, the dimensions of which may be calculated to the minimum according to this equipment.
So that movement is noiseless and effortless, the trolley wheels are made of nylon, and the contact surface inside the profiles is reduced. For the operator when pushing loads manually, trolley wheels' rolling friction coefficient is substantially reduced compared with the steel rails. In this way, EUROSYSTEM ALU reduces the efforts required at all the stages of moving a load (start, positioning, stop) and consequently contributes to improving the workstations' ergonomics.
EUROSYSTEM ALU makes it possible to produce a very wide variety of handling systems, whether the loads are moved manually or motorised:
-Simple or complete monorail travelling tracks with a direction-changing system by switches or a multidirectional turntable.
-A suspended or built-in single-girder crane. Suspended from trolleys, the crane beam travels along the length of the runway profiles manually or electrically.
-Suspended or built-in double girder cranes. A hoist trolley is proposed for exceptionally low height requirements.
End plates are fitted to avoid distortion of the profiles, to stop the trolleys running off the runway profiles at the end and to protect them against dust. A complete range of suspensions is proposed to fix the whole handling system to the support structure: verticals, obliques, fixed, extended suspensions, etc. Similarly, a very wide choice of free-standing trolleys is available: manual and standard trolleys, bogies, articulated or UKTM AL type motorised bogies. A manual trolley can also be motorised later on. Hoisting is carried out by the EUROCHAIN hoists, offering a wide rage of capacities and speeds.
Several options are available, from curved rails for circuits, built-in power-feed systems on AL2000, transfer systems, turntables and switches, motorised bearing and crossing or travelling trolleys.
