Enhanced M1- LaserCUSING® System to be Unveiled at Euromold 2008

Cost effective entry into rapid manufacturing

The M1 LaserCUSING® system has been specifically designed to offer a practical and affordable entry into the world of LaserCUSING®, as a cost effective alternative to the larger Concept Laser processing systems such as the M3 linear.

The system encompasses all of the benefits from the extensive experience and ongoing developments by CONCEPT Laser in the field of LaserCUSING®. Thanks to this combination of experience and innovation the M1 LaserCUSING® system now boasts a new 200 watt fibre laser and an increased build envelope of 250mm x 250mm x 250 mm (150 x 150 x 200mm previously). A further enhancement from the development team at CONCEPT Laser GmbH is the low inert gas consumption of <1 m3/h. The M1 system is fully capable of multi shift operation, either in the field of tool making or for the manufacture of production parts. The M1 can also be used to provide additional capacity where existing systems may be working at full capacity. The combination of the more powerful laser, increased working area together with the unique characteristics of the completed components, will boost the competitive strength of companies using the new M1 LaserCUSING® system.

Following in the footsteps of the M2

Since the launch of the M2 LaserCUSING® system at the Euromold 2007, this system has already successfully established itself within the market with over a dozen systems sold to date. Original equipment manufacturers from the aerospace, automotive and medical technology sectors use the M2 in multi-shift operation for serial production of parts. Aluminium and titanium components with material properties which match the original materials can now be easily manufactured layer by layer within a few days using the LaserCUSING® process.

Future developments and ongoing innovation

As a further commitment to their ongoing program of product development and innovation, the CONCEPT Laser team will continue development of finer powder materials as well as new materials for the manufacture of tool inserts for the mould and tool manufacturing industry.
