Dawson Shanahan new manufacturing facilities open day

In contrast to so many companies in this difficult economic climate, Dawson Shanahan has grown significantly in recent years thanks to a buoyant export market to Europe, North America and the Far East that is at an all-time high. The company is one of only three in Europe to specialise in precision cold forming for the manufacture of highly complex components made from copper, aluminium and ferrous compounds and has also pioneered the use of stainless steel for cold formed parts. These products serve the increasing demand from a range of industries worldwide that include the aerospace, automotive and medical sectors.

All production activities are carried out at the Company’s 2,800 m² purpose-built plant, with prototype and production tooling design, through to manufacture, quality control and inspection all being operated in-house.

The tour will focus on a grinding cell with custom built high speed slot, groove and centreless grinding machines, component finishing and cleaning systems, and the creation of a new production area aimed at medical and aerospace components. During the tour presentations by Les Reeves, Managing Director, and Jeff Kiernan, Commercial Director of Dawson Shanahan will also be given.
