A leading manufacturer of automotive components aims to bolster its materials handling capacity after taking delivery of two new Pedestrian Operated Heavy-Duty Counterbalanced Stacking Trucks manufactured just a couple of miles away from its factory in Aston, near Birmingham. The trucks were supplied on a fully inclusive Maintenance Hire Contract.
The Wilmat ‘Bulldog' trucks have lift capacities of 500kg and 700kg and are ideal for operation at Sertec's manufacturing facility at Holden Hill where floor space is at a premium.
Marie Lacey at Birmingham-based Wilmat explained: "Our Bulldog trucks have a proven track record when it comes to durability and manoeuvrability due to their compact design - an essential combination for meeting Sertec's requirements."
"Two versions of this heavy-duty Counterbalanced Pedestrian Operated Lift Truck are now providing for the safe and efficient handling of press tools, which need to be transported from storage areas to mechanical presses at the Aston plant."
Wilmat have enjoyed a long and successful working relationship with Sertec. For the past decade the company has operated an older version of the ‘Bulldog', which is still giving trouble free performance, alongside one of Wilmat's specialist Die Handlers which has also been on hire for over 10 years.
Matthew Brock, who supervises the operation of the trucks at Sertec, commented: "Our experience with Wilmat over the years has been very positive.
"They have a very positive approach and the trucks are really solidly made, with very thoughtful features. They were able to meet our requirement for heavy duty handling trucks that can work with precision in a confined space."
Wilmat's Bulldog trucks are available in a range of sizes, from 300kg to 3,000kg capacity and lift heights from 800mm to 4600mm. Optional attachments, such as side shift, rider operated platform, drum grip, drum clamps, reel clamps, jibs and booms, are also available and bespoke models can be manufactured on request.
Marie added: "We are delighted that Sertec have decided to invest in the latest versions of our best selling ‘Bulldog' models and we are confident that they will deliver reliable, efficient service for many years."
