Wilcoxon Research underwent a stringent registration audit of the company’s employees, processes and operations to ensure its quality assurance practices meet the requirements of the AS9100 Aerospace Standard for Quality Systems. It is a requirement to have AS9100 registration in order to provide products to the aerospace market, and Wilcoxon expects it to open the door for additional aerospace business.
Wilcoxon Research has been ISO9001 certified since 1998, but the requirements of AS9100 registration will result in an even more demanding quality system. “This is an exciting improvement for Wilcoxon because it takes our entire business to the next level,” said Tom Smith, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Meeting the AS9100 standards will improve the design, development and manufacture of products for aerospace and industrial customers alike.”
DNV Certifications, the company that conducted the AS9100 audit of Wilcoxon Research, reported the auditor was very impressed that an industrial product manufacturer had such a robust quality system in place. In the auditor’s estimation, Wilcoxon Research rates among the top 10% of all companies first applying for AS9100 registration. “The auditor’s remarks are a real compliment directed at the competence and conduct of Wilcoxon employees,” said John Churchill, Quality Assurance Director at Wilcoxon Research.
