Raman spectroscopy is one of the principal methods of non-destructive chemical analysis at macro- and microscopic levels. It requires minimal sample preparation and is particularly useful in the analysis of molecular structure and geometries. Entitled “Introducing Raman Spectroscopy,” this interactive seminar will initially explain the theoretical basis of Raman spectroscopy and will then set out to describe how the technique can provide solutions for routine and research spectroscopic applications. Raman spectroscopy is a versatile technique with applications in several areas including pharmaceutical, semiconductor, forensics, gems and minerals, polymers and protective coatings.
