The IAA Show Yields Great Results For Edbro, The First And Still The Best In The Tipping Cylinder Industry
Edbro developed the world’s first hydraulic powered tipping cylinder in 1916, over 90 years later at the 2010 IAA show its message was “The first, and still the best”. Throughout its years Edbro has been at the forefront of R&D in the tipping market, and continues to lead the industry in increasing payloads, reducing tipping times and improving safety. Edbro has grown to become the number one manufacturer of hydraulic tipping hoists in the world. With such a prestigious history within the tipping industry it is no surprise that at this year’s IAA show Edbro presented the one millionth production cylinder.

Edbro’s manufacturing base, and headquarters, remain in the company’s home town of Bolton in the UK; with subsidiary offices in France, Germany and Ireland providing centralised European distribution. Edbro products are found worldwide, including a strong presence in Africa, Middle East, Korea and Australasia. The company maintains an extensive service network which means essential backup can be provided wherever the application.

The Edbro range of tipping cylinders includes CS cylinders for front end truck and trailer applications. CX and LN combined ram and tank units specifically for rigid truck applications. TS twin-ram underbody hoists for crane and tipper applications and UB single ram cylinders for underbody tipping and 3-way applications.

Edbro also offers customised kit solutions combining specially designed components including hydraulic valves, pneumatic controls, piston and gear pumps, PTOs, oil tanks and all other fittings required for hydraulics applications. The RK range of cylinders applies Edbro’s hydraulic cylinder expertise to waste handling ejector operations.

Edbro is also at the forefront of improving industry safety standards. The Safe Tipping range includes Inclinometers for trailers and rigid trucks, designed to monitor tipping angles during operation and reduce the risk of accidents. A high voltage alert system has also just been introduced which detects over head power cables and avoids possible contact when tipping. Both of these products were available to view on the stand.
