MANCHESTER and London based communications infrastructure specialist, Sudlows, has successfully secured a contract to design and install a modern fibre network for the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust requires a complete network refresh across the one square mile site at the value of £500,000 which will encompass a new Blown Fibre network and structured cabling design combining fibre replacement and physical consolidation in addition to small M&E building refurbishment works.

With such a highly critical environment, the efficiency of the communication network is vital to avoid any kind of network downtime. By successfully unifying multiple systems onto one converged network the Hospital can reduce day to day technical issues and enhance the networks security.

Sudlows is ideally positioned to provide a modern and reliable network infrastructure having already successfully delivered a number of projects for NHS Trusts in the North West and wider UK region for over 20 years.

Phil Howe, Network Project Manager at Royal Bolton Hospital, said:

By simplifying the network design through the project, the Royal Bolton Hospital site will become much easier to manage and help us deliver effective communication, patient care and future IT Projects through a robust future proof design. Sudlows, who are principal contractor, have proven themselves as a reputable and reliable figure in the industry and their client-led approach has led to the upgrade commencing straight away.

The Bolton NHS Foundation Trust has recently undergone an amalgamation of their services as a new integrated care organisation; therefore this specific connectivity project will provide the hospital with a future proof design which will help facilitate future requirements.

Connectivity Manager at Sudlows, Darren Stephens, said:

“This is fantastic news for both the Connectivity and Fibre Divisions at Sudlows. The new communications network is a commercially and technically advantageous design that will provide long term benefits and ultimately deliver a consistent, responsive business infrastructure, which is currently underway over a multi-phase,19 week roll out”.
