Commenting upon SolutionsPT’s achievement in winning the awards, John Bailey, founder and Managing Director said “I am of course very proud that we have done so well in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For competition, particularly so, in view of the fact that the awards are collated from individual employees’ personal and confidential input and their stated belief in the organisation and the whole SolutionsPT team”.
Companies are assessed by their employees across eight areas. These areas, or “factors”, cover company leadership, employee wellbeing, relationships with managers, relationships with colleagues, feelings towards the company, personal growth, fair dealing over pay and benefits, and the organisation’s record for giving something back to society.
The Sunday Times awards website stated; “like a well-oiled machine, SolutionsPT has raced from an unlisted 272nd place in 2008 to 76th position, the highest jump in a competitive year. The company offers support, software and hardware for manufacturing plants but it treats its 64 employees like people, not robots. People find their jobs stimulating (an 87% positive score). Training is of great personal benefit (73%), and office hours are enforced so that nobody spends too much time working. Staff feel proud to work there (87%) and say the company makes a positive difference”.
“Staff feel immensely positive about the firm, giving it an 85% positive score overall for questions on company loyalty, a top 40 result.
There are 64 employees, who together help the organisation buck the economy, with sales growth of 10% in the latest financial year.
Employees say work is an important part of their lives (84%) and they find their jobs stimulating (87% and a top 10 score). Leading the way is founder and managing director John Bailey, who has been at the helm for 23 years and inspires a great deal of faith (87%).
Staff believe they can make a valuable contribution to the business’s success (87%), and a company-wide e-mail goes out to celebrate people’s achievements. Employees certainly aren’t bored (84%) and find the training of great benefit (73%).
A total of 48 people used work time to volunteer for good causes last year. Staff say the company puts a lot into the community (74%, the 11th highest score). Nobody spends too much time working (64%) and the job does not interfere with responsibilities at home (74%). After six months, there is a contributory pension where people put in 5% of salary and the firm adds 7%.
Employees are proud to work at SolutionsPT (87%) and say it makes a positive difference to the world (67%)”.
