SKF, the leading knowledge engineering company, has announced its latest training courses for 2010. The programme has been put together to help design, production and maintenance engineers improve their skills, learn about new technologies, and discover techniques for increasing machine and plant efficiency, reliability and performance.
The training courses will be delivered by skilled SKF trainers with years of experience in their field. Among the courses on offer are sessions covering every aspect of machine reliability, from the shop floor to the executive office. Work Identification courses include methods and technologies for identifying the condition and maintenance requirements of machinery, while Work Execution includes correct bearing application and failure assessment, as well as best practices in lubrication, installation, precision alignment, balancing, and post-maintenance testing.

In addition to the training courses offered by SKF’s Reliability Maintenance Institute (RMI) at its offices in Luton and Aberdeen, a customised programme can be arranged at a client’s site. Alternatively, e-learning courses covering a range of topics enable flexible, self-paced learning.

Other specialist training courses on offer include a two-day introductory course on Noise and Vibration in Industry, covering the basics of noise and vibration and FFT-based signal analysis, and railway bearing-related courses in accordance with the national standards specified by the rail industry.

Carried out a number of times throughout the year, the two-day course on Noise and Vibration in Industry is held in either Birmingham, Manchester or CMC Livingston on June 15th and 16th, September 14th and 15th, and November 23rd and 24th. A Root Cause Bearing Damage Analysis course takes place on April 29th, June 2nd, August 4th, October 13th, and December 15th at SKF’s Luton site or the customer’s site to suit. Furthermore, this one day course can also be customised to become a two-day course to meet the requirements of the business.
